Performance is, we know that, a hybrid type, an unsteady centre at the confluence of many arts. Maybe in fact it became autonomous only recently, after a succession of several generations (forerunners, founders, first "masters") in order to reveal its specificity, its constants and its topics and the characteristic of a performance’s Festival is well to stimulate this confluence, to make artists coming from many geographical and cultural horizons and traditions, such as dance, visual arts, poetry, Fluxus, theater, meet together, and inhabit the wandering land which is performance.

Polysonneries today represents already three events, 12 performance evenings, 89 artists poets or theorists who’ve been invited, 40 nations involved and 50 volunteers who make possible this great experience. Polysonneries is a unique event in France and in part of Europe and it definitely aims at beeing known better in other countries and is willing to keep developing a web of collaborations abroad as well as actions taking place in other cities open to performance, a form of art in the forefront of contemporary artistic research.

How the artists, especially those of performance, who have always drawn on social, political, existential and ethical problems succeed to maintain a discussion about spiritual and concrete values of the world in which we live? What is the rapport between the organizer and the artist? How the organizer is able to defend and valorise an artistic discipline "out of fashion"? By the way of a conference/discussion, Sylvie Ferré will approach the main topic of this creation's dimension in the heart of the contemporary practises.
