The short film, as an interesting form of maintaining a feel of fluency, sketchiness and intimacy.
The themes of portrayal are scenic and concern the relationship between man and nature. The aim is, though, to find the methaforical dimensions of the scenery as well as some of the inner landscape, to outline the visible and, for the visionary, rich world. At the same time, the narration gives room for imagination. Our perception may be scattered and fumble amidst the flood of information and other media whereas art may serve as a tool for deciphering perspective and appreciating different values.
The exhibition consists of videos, shot during 2002 and 2003, all originally on film (8 mm). Film has been used to enable a sort of picturesque way of dealing with topics and feelings – film, as an element, seems to live a life of its own even after being transformed into digital form. The whole process is certainly far from an ”instant” depiction, but in all it’s slowness it retains some of the impulsive experience.
