worldchampionsThree Finnish artist-run galleries have been invited to participate in a new Nordic art fair in Norway.

Carl Sebastian Lindberg: World Champions, video, 2012.

What A Mess! is a new artist-run fair organized by Østfold kunstnersenter ØKS. The fair is held at Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall, a new art venue in Fredrikstad, an hour’s drive from Oslo. A total of 30 artist organizations and galleries have been invited to participate in the fair, which is also the inaugural event of the new Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall.

The invitation to Finnish galleries is a result of sustained international networking efforts by the galleries, including participation over many years in the resoundingly successful Supermarket Fair in Stockholm. International networking and cooperation between artist-run galleries is growing rapidly, and the purpose of the new event is to offer artists and artist-run galleries an opportunity to create Nordic contacts and present work by the artists represented by the galleries.

The Finnish galleries participating in the fair are:

GalleriaKONE, Hämeenlinna
Galleria Rajatila, Tampere
MUU gallery, Helsinki
