Art fairs and art critics don’t seem to be the greatest match. Their coming together mostly results in a top 10 list of the best gallery booths or in suggestions of the newest trends in art. Can it be different? In the workshop we will use upcoming Art Fair Suomi as a case-study to explore creative art writing in the context of an art fair. Finger exercises in writing will be alternated with longer write-in’s in which we get the chance to try out ideas for writing in an intimate circle.

The outcome of the workshop will be released as a publication at the Art Fair Suomi opening evening. This publication will be a first issue of series of publications at the festival. Participants of the workshop are asked to commit to create contributions to the further issues that will appear during the Art Fair from 23 to 26 of May.

MUU kirjoittaa / MUU skriver / MUU Writes is a group of MUU member artists who share an interest in writing. The group has set themselves the task of publishing essays on exhibitions scheduled in MUU’s program since Autumn 2018, to be released both online and in the gallery. The Write-in Workshops by An Paenhuysen is a way of expanding the MUU Writes activities and inviting new members to join the group.
