MUU – APPLICATION TIME FOR EXHIBITIONS, SPRING 2019

Application time for exhibitions in MUU, Spring 2019, is now. Deadline for the applications is 15 October 2017.

MUU’s exhibition spaces are
MUU Gallery & MUU Studio, in Helsinki city center, address Lönnrotinkatu 33, and MUU Kaapeli (MUU Cable), in Kaapelitehdas (Cable Factory), Helsinki.

This year members of the MUU’s exhibition group are artists Liisa Kanerva, Leevi Lehtinen, Ilkka Pitkänen, Elsa Trzaska and director Timo Soppela. This autumn visiting guest curator in the exhibition group will be Irini Papadimitriou.

Irini Papadimitriou is a curator, producer and cultural manager, working at the forefront of digital culture. As Digital Programmes Manager at the V&A, Irini is responsible, amongst other projects, for the annual Digital Design Weekend: a big-scale event of interactive installations, open and collaborative workshops, artists’ presentations and talks; as well as Digital Futures: a networking event for displaying and discussing work by researchers, artists, designers, companies and other professionals working with art, technology, design, science and beyond. Irini is also Head of New Media Arts Development at Watermans, an arts organisation supporting artists working with technology, where she is curating the exhibition programme and an annual Digital Performance festival.

Irini Papadimitriou’s visit and program is realised in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in London.
