Klega (UK): Audio wall drawings

"Large wall-drawings made from pins and audio-tape are like simple connect-the-dot drawings of mediated images: a crashed plan, quotations of art work, and TV images pined to the wall. Magnetic tape is simply wound around pins. Then the audio-tape that constitutes the drawing is put on rolls and through a cassette player, the most common device of solipsism today, that is fitted to the wall. The tape spins and releases its part of a global story. It becomes a machine that juggles media, images, sounds and messages. The viewer can see an image, a vibrating line drawn on the wall by a moving tape, and at the same time listen to sampled or specially recorded sound. Together the media trigger a
multitude of possible story lines and images far beyond the factual material on the wall. The images and sounds that travel around the world via the media are short circuited into a condensed polysemic icon." KLEGA
