OTTO KARVONEN (1975, Finland)

Otto karvonen is specialised in art containing the elements of interaction and dialogue. He works on site-specific projects usually located in public space. Besides his own artistic projects he is active in organising and curating exhibitions taking place outside the traditional institutions of art.

  Ole niin kuin mitään ei olisi tapahtunutkaan, Lahti, Finland 2003. Different modified traffic signs saying "please act like nothing happened" scattered around the center of Lahti, at for example squares and public monuments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ausländer, Berlin 2002.
Words deriving from the values and preoccupations of the local community, painted on the ground with chalk paint. The work existed next to a subway station, where people normally stand around waiting for buses.
