| OUR FOCUS Since the mid-90s, the wide range of basic digital communication tools and the varying ways of using these tools have created new forms of aesthetics. Today there are numerous projects that can be classified under different labels, but what is, ultimately net art. What is it about the internet that makes it such a conducive medium and atmosphere for artists to explore artificial reality. Can our most complex emotions be expressed by a non-linear, browser-based environment. Will our visual culture still be dominated by photographic images in the future, or will completely new concepts replace them. Net art seems to be a movement in our culture. But is there a lack of discussion on the current cultural policies and the political trends, since the average net artist is largely from the west. Its inevitable that new forms for artistic experience are needed. Shouldnt major artistic institutions pay attention to this, and create opportunities for artists to exhibit their work.
