PERFORMANCES EXHIBITIONS SEMINARS WORKSHOP THE CLUB

The theme of the workshop is art in public spaces and it is aimed for 15-20 artists and art students as well. Workshop is given by visual artist Erkki Soininen. Workshop is held 19-29 August 2008 in Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and Hietalahti-Ruoholahti districts.

The first two days of the workshop consists of lectures which focuses on the site-specific art and the history of installation art. Climax will happen on 29 August when the works are built and took to pieces during the one day and night.

Working area and the performances: Area starts from the Cable Factory and proceeds by the canal and sea coast to Hietalahti market place and ends to Sinebrychoff park. Workshop artists will walk through the area starting from Cable Factory at 10 am.

kuningas kunigattarensa kanssa. He olivat onnellisia, mutta heillä ei ollut yhtään lasta. Joka päivä he puhelivat siitä keskenään ja sanoivat
toisilleen : "Voi, jospa meillä olisi pieni lapsonen! (H.C. Andersen)

6. PASI RAUHALA Fortuna - fortuna on roomalaisessa mytologiassa onnen ja sattuman jumalatar. Onnella ja sattumalla on oma osuutensa myös Fortuna -teoksessa.

11. NANA RÄMÖ Paitapläjäys - Sinebrychoffin puisto muuttuu hetkeksi tekoni vaikutuksesta

Artist Erkki Soininen (1953) got his basic training of artist at Finnish Academy of Fine Arts 1980-85, where he studied art graphics and painting. Soon after the studies installations became his primary focus to work with. Modern dance and expecially the movement as a part of installations became visible in his art 10 years ago.
