Essi Kausalainen - Carole Douillard Mimosa Pale - Viviana Moin Jouni Partanen - Charlie Jeffery Pessi Parviainen - Christophe Bruno
Jouni Partanen (b. 1972) lives and works in Lahti. He divides his time between performance and visual art and happening organization. He has shown his art far, in Jakarta and Orimattila Art Museum, and close, in Paris and Helsinki. In recent years Partanen has been especially active in the Poor Artists in Residence. British artist Charlie Jeffery (b. 1975) studied fine art at the university of Reading, England. After his graduation in 1998, Jeffery has shown his work in Europe and Asia. He is currently in residency at Mains d'Œuvres where he is developing The Mud Office (with british artist Dan Robinson of the Department of Inbetween). He recently initiated Vidéoisme, a series of travelling video programs. He now lives and works in Paris. His practice confronts raw & found materials with language & energetic performance. The physical (destructive action in performance or in the studio) interweave with strategies of display & complex editing (in video films, installed texts). Balancing immediacy with irony, his work blurs the usual hierarchy between objects & trash, slogans & philosophy, collection & homeless DIY, monument & sketches.
